Pakistan to host China healthcare investment conference to boost pharma collaboration

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will host the Pakistan–China Pharmaceutical & Healthcare B2B Investment Conference 2026 on July 17–18 in Islamabad as part of efforts to attract Chinese investment and expand bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical, healthcare and biotechnology industries.

The event is being organised under the joint leadership of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination (NHSR&C) and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP).

According to an official statement, the conference will serve as a business-to-business (B2B) platform, bringing together leading Pakistani pharmaceutical, healthcare and biotechnology companies with Chinese investors, manufacturers, technology providers and industry executives to explore commercial partnerships.

The organisers said the conference will feature structured B2B meetings, networking sessions and investment dialogues focused on promoting joint ventures, technology transfer, contract manufacturing, research collaboration and local production partnerships.

The initiative is aimed at generating new investment opportunities, strengthening cross-border business ties and encouraging greater Chinese participation in Pakistan's healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.

Officials said the conference also supports the Special Investment Facilitation Council's broader objective of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) by creating a more conducive environment for industrial development and long-term economic growth.

According to the statement, the event is expected to contribute to the modernisation of Pakistan's healthcare ecosystem, enhance the competitiveness of the domestic pharmaceutical industry and further strengthen the long-standing strategic economic partnership between Pakistan and China through sustained industrial collaboration.
