ISLAMABAD
Abrahim Ali Shah and Muhammad Asad Raza, students of College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), won the first prize for their project, Diagnosis, Monitoring and Rehabilitation of Parkinson’s Disease using machine learning and big data, at the recently concluded IEEE Computer Society Global Student Challenge. The second and third place prizes were conferred on students of Penn State USA and the University of Houston, respectively.
The competition, open to all IEEE Computer Society student members, challenges students from all over the world, to create an innovative solution, based on the IEEE Computer Society 2022 report that will solve a real-world issue including machine learning and IOT. The event is the most prestigious ‘student category’ competition conducted by IEEE Computer Society.
The winning team from NUST was invited to receive the award at the annual banquet of IEEE Computer Society, held in Hyatt Regency Phoenix, Arizona with all trip expenses covered by IEEE computer society, including a round trip to the USA and a three-day stay at Hyatt Regency.
At the ceremony, the winners were also awarded USD 1500 and a certificate as a token of appreciation.
