SKMCH collects record number of hides this Eid

LAHORE

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospitals have been successful in collecting a record number of hides this Eid, resulting in a 30 per cent increase over last year, said the spokesperson of the institution.

He further said that it was made possible only by unwavering resilience and commitment of the donners to the great cause. All proceeds from the sale of these hides will be utilised in supporting the treatment of poor cancer patients at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospitals in Lahore and Peshawar.

This huge increase was despite the fact that this year Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital faced an unprecedented level of hostility, harassment and obstruction from the authorities while collecting these hides.

He said it is shocking and appalling at the level to which some people seem to be prepared to stoop. They need to remember that the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospitals are non-political, and that, by attempting to obstruct these hospitals in their work, or in the collection of Zakat, donations or hides, they are actually hurting the poorest and most disadvantaged people in our society, patients with cancer, young and old, from all parts of Pakistan, for whom SKMCH&RC is the only hope of cure, and of life.

Shaukat Khanum Hospital pledges to go on fighting the good fight.
