Pakgen Power, Lalpir Power renamed after SECP approves change in business line
SECP approved renaming Pakgen Power Limited to Pakgen Limited and Lalpir Power Limited to Lalpir Limited, along with principal business line changes after April 27 shareholder approvals.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has approved the change of names of Pakgen Power Limited and Lalpir Power Limited, along with changes in their principal lines of business, according to notices submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Friday.
Pakgen Power Limited has been renamed Pakgen Limited, while Lalpir Power Limited has been renamed Lalpir Limited.
Both companies said the changes had been approved by shareholders at their Annual General Meetings held on April 27, 2026.
In its notice, Pakgen Limited informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that the SECP had accorded approval for the change of name from Pakgen Power Limited to Pakgen Limited and the change in principal line of business.
The company said that, following the approval, its name is now Pakgen Limited. The notice was issued under reference PGL-PSX/556.
In a separate notice, Lalpir Limited said the SECP had approved the change of name from Lalpir Power Limited to Lalpir Limited and the change in principal line of business.
The company said its name is now Lalpir Limited. The notice was issued under reference LPL-PSX/67.
The notices did not specify the revised principal line of business.
Lalpir Power Limited was incorporated in Pakistan on May 8, 1994, under the repealed Companies Ordinance, 1984, now the Companies Act, 2017. Its principal activities were to own, operate and maintain a fuel-fired power station with a gross capacity of 362 megawatts in Mehmood Kot, Muzaffargarh, Punjab.
Pakgen Power Limited was incorporated in Pakistan on June 22, 1995, under the repealed Companies Ordinance, 1984, now the Companies Act, 2017. Its principal activities were to own, operate, and maintain a fuel-fired power station with a gross capacity of 365 megawatts in Mehmood Kot, Muzaffargarh, Punjab.
