Joint meeting of all commerce chambers to be convened in November

FAISALABAD: A joint meeting of All Pakistan Presidents Chambers of Commerce & Industry will be convened in November.

Addressing Meet the Press Programme at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) here on Friday, President Shabbir Hussain Chawla said the business community was one of the major stakeholder of the national economy.

He demanded that the government should involve representatives of the business community in policy making and consult them regarding economic matters in the country.

Shabbir Chawla said the business community was striving hard to strengthen the economy.

Responding to a question, he said an international level ‘Made in Faisalabad Expo’ would be arranged in March or April. “The ultimate objective of the expo is to project the industrial and business strength of Faisalabad in addition to promoting its image,” he added.

He said all ambassadors and senior diplomats in Islamabad would be invited so that they could directly witness quality of products produced by industrial sector of Faisalabad.

He said:” Our industrialists are producing products for many internationally renowned brands, but they should introduce their own brands”. He assured that the FCCI would encourage industrialists for the introduction of their own brands.

Shabbir Chawla said the FCCI was also contributing its role for the collective civic problems of the city.

He said Pakistan Railways also started an Express Cargo Train from Faisalabad to Karachi and Vice Versa. “This train will run two days in a week which will provide a speedy transportation of goods”, he added.

SVP Sheikh Farooq Yusuf, Mirza Gulzar Ahmed, Zeeshan Noorani, Mian Tanveer Ahmed, Syed Khalid Mehmood Shah, Sanaullah Khan Niazi, Rana Ikramullah and Secretary General Abid Masood were also present.
