KARACHI: Bahria Town hosted a marathon, cycling and pet show at Bahria Town, Karachi on Sunday. The event received great response from the public, along with appreciation, due to its quality arrangements and theme.
The event was attended by noted personalities from the world of sports, showbiz, politics, corporate sector and the media, besides Bahria Town’s top management.
The one-day event commenced at 06:00 am when runners from all over Karachi started their 42 km run. The 21 km version was started at 08:00 am. The marathon also included 10, 5, and 2 kilometre runs. Prize distribution for the marathon was held at 01:00 pm in the Carnival Area.
Professional and amateur cyclists hit the road for the cycling competition from two points: Agha’s Supermarket Clifton at 6:30 am, and Dunkin Donuts Tipu Sultan at 6:45 am.
Pet Show got underway at 10:00 am in a commodious area opposite the Ancient Park. Residents of not only Bahria Town but of entire Karachi participated in the event with their healthy and well-groomed cats, dogs and birds. The victorious owners received amazing prizes.
Expecting a huge turnout, Bahria Town management and owners had made special arrangements at the Horizon Fine Dining.
Organised with the collaboration of some famous groups, the event was an expression of Bahria Town’s commitment to promoting healthy social, cultural and sports activities.
