ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani has said that Pakistan offers a conducive environment for investment and Turkish investors must invest in Pakistan and explore new avenues of cooperation for mutual benefit.
He said this during a meeting with the Turkish Ambassador Ihsan Mustafa Yrudakul at the Parliament House here on Tuesday.
Chairman Senate said that Turkey has become an attractive tourist destination for Pakistanis and there was dire need to enhance mutual collaboration in different sectors including trade and investment. He said that Pakistan and Turkey share a bond of friendship which has its roots in cultural, religious and social commonalities bringing people of both the countries close to each other.
He said that Turkey is an important country and Pakistan has always placed its historical relations with Turkey in high esteem. He said that both have supported each other point of view at international fora, however, there is need to further boost parliamentary linkages to build better regional rapport and make joint efforts for regional peace and stability.
“We want peace in the region as war is not a solution to our issues. Lasting peace and security can make Asia prosper. There is huge potential for cooperation between the two countries”, Sanjrani added.
The Turkish Envoy greeted Chairman Senate for assuming the Charge of office. He agreed with the views of Chairman Senate and underscored the need for more enhanced cooperation between the two sides.
No one in their right mind will invest in Pakistan as long as lack of rule of law and rampant corruption rules the roost. Pakistan is afflicted by two crippling curses, the first is a brutal, none democratic andcleptocratic political status quo of loot, plunder and abuse of power and the second is a ignorant and brainless majority in electorate that keeps voting for this dispicable status quo election after election. Your politicians talk about supremacy of parliament, democratic rule and sanctity of vote, but there is never a mention of basic rights, public needs and welfare of voters
