Omar Ayub given additional charge of petroleum ministry

According to a notification issued on Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan has allocated the additional portfolio of petroleum ministry to Omar Ayub Khan, the Minister for Power Division.

Last month, in a major cabinet reshuffle, PM Imran Khan had taken back the petroleum ministry from Ghulam Sarwar Khan and gave him aviation ministry.

As per reports, the premier was not satisfied by the performance of Ghulam Sarwar Khan.

Newly-appointed PM’s Special Assistant on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan had criticized the policies of the former petroleum minister and accused him mismanaging the ministry. “The petroleum ministry was looted, that’s why the minister was changed,” she had stated.
