Finance Minister Aurangzeb heads to Washington for trade, investment talks
Three-day visit will include meetings with USTR, US Exim Bank, DFC and IMF officials as Pakistan and the US discuss tariffs and a wider economic partnership

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb is expected to arrive in Washington on Saturday for a three-day visit focused on trade, finance and investment as Pakistan and the United States continue negotiations on a broader bilateral economic partnership.
As per reports, Aurangzeb is scheduled to meet officials from the Office of the United States Trade Representative, the US Export-Import Bank, the US International Development Finance Corporation and the International Monetary Fund.
Discussions are expected to centre on a potential bilateral trade agreement covering tariffs, market access, investment opportunities and wider economic cooperation.
Meetings with the US Export-Import Bank and the DFC will explore financing options for infrastructure, energy and private-sector investment projects.
The visit follows a fresh round of talks in Washington last week on tariffs affecting Pakistani exports and a broader trade arrangement.
Pakistan and the US have been negotiating since President Donald Trump announced a new global tariff regime on April 2, 2025.
