POGEE 2019 to provide solutions to prevalent energy crisis

KARACHI: While inaugurating the 17th International Oil and Gas Exhibition (POGEE) at the Karachi Expo Centre, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) President Junaid Makda urged the government to resolve the prevalent energy crisis otherwise all efforts to lift the ailing economy could prove futile.

He said that imposition of five per cent tax on LNG will put an additional burden on gas consumers, as the prices would go further up.

“POGEE has become the country’s only premier show on oil and gas sector, providing solutions to the energy crisis prevailing for the past many years,” said Pegasus Consultancy Managing Director Aamer Khanzad.

He said that over 250 foreign and local exhibitors are displaying their state-of-the-art equipment of oil, gas and power solutions in the mega event while an international conference is being held on the sideline of the exhibition wherein a number of experts on energy sector would deliver their papers on new technologies, inventions and solution to the emerging issues.

More than 250 companies from around 25 countries, including China, Germany, Italy, Canada, Austria, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, Bahrain, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland, Japan, UAE, UK, USA, Australia, Korea, Denmark, Belgium, Malaysia, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Sweden, Netherlands, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Slovakia and South Korea, have set up their stalls in the show.

The exhibition also provides an opportunity to bring together international business professionals and leading local industry players to exchange their technical and business expertise in a highly focused business-to0-business environment to acquaint the local industry with the latest developments in the worldwide oil gas and energy sector.

The 15th POGEE Energy Conference offers an excellent platform for the exchange of views and information to the highly targeted audience from oil, gas and energy sectors.

The conference will be held tomorrow (22nd June) at the Convention Centre of Karachi Expo Centre. The theme of the conference is based on ‘Energy Transformation, Past, Present & Future’. It will include exclusive sessions on ‘Transforming Indigenous Resources into Energy Sources’ and ‘Optimising Past Practices to Save Future’.
