Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Industries & Production Abdul Razzaq Dawood has said that the Ministry of Industries & Production will formulate a comprehensive e-vehicle policy to address environmental issues.
In a consultative meeting with Adviser to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam on Tuesday, Abdul Razzaq Dawood said the e-vehicle policy would also promote healthy competition in the auto-sector along with viable options for consumers at each price point.
The commerce adviser stressed upon the importance of controlling carbon emissions in order to improve the environment and to embark on a journey towards clean and green growth.
He said that the upcoming e-vehicle policy will be implemented under the broader auspices of the Auto Development Policy (ADP) 2016-21, after consultation with concerned stakeholders.
“The government aims to incorporate global best practices, aligned with the best interest of Pakistan’s industry, so that the country’s industrial base could be strengthened,” he added.
