FESCO to spend Rs1.3bn on maintenance of transmission, distribution lines

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) is spending Rs 1.3 billion on the repair and maintenance of transmission and distribution lines in Fesco region while transformer of 40-MBA capacity will become functional in M3 Industrial Estate during next month, said Fesco CEO Shafiqul Hassan.

Addressing the business community in Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) here on Tuesday, he said the government has offered flat rate on additional consumption of electricity during four months of winter season.

Shafiqul Hassan said the company would help in disposing of all pending applications for new electricity connections.  “It will help in disposing off all pending applications for new electricity connections,” he said.

Underlining the importance of electricity, he termed it a prerequisite for generating economic activity. “It is encouraging that we have surplus electricity in the country, which must be utilised for further strengthening the national economy,” he said.
