Govt allocates Rs7.254bn to uplift electricity infrastructure in KP: Omar Ayub

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Power Division Omar Ayub Khan says the government has allocated Rs7.254 billion to uplift electricity infrastructure in the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said a total of 440 villages of merged districts will be electrified with the allocation.

The minister said that the Power Division has developed a Project Management Software that will keep a complete record of all projects.

He said the software will not only ensure transparency but will also help in the timely execution and completion of projects contributing towards cost reduction.

The meeting was apprised that work on new grid stations and laying of new transmission lines has also been started and a total of Rs3.937 billion has been earmarked for the activity.
