FBR ordered to reopen 565 complaints, performance report of FBR officials submitted to PMDU

ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister Office on Monday has directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to reopen 565 complaints registered at the Pakistan Citizen Portal and ensure their resolution on merit.

FBR also issued a press release saying that the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (PMDU) has received a report regarding the performance of FBR officials. Strict warnings have been issued to ten high ranking officials of the FBR over their poor performance, while those with good performance reports have been commended by the prime minister. The officials have been directed to improve their performance regarding the resolution of public complaints.

FBR said that strict action will be initiated in case the public complaints are not addressed in a satisfactory manner. Furthermore, an Integrity and Performance Management Unit (IPMU) has been established in FBR to address the complaints of the taxpayers against any employee.
