The Agriculture Department has advised wheat growers to irrigate their crops to prevent fungus attacks.
The advisory, issued on Sunday, warned that fungus had been detected in some wheat crops by the end of February 2025.
Growers were urged to irrigate their standing crops before the fungus could spread. In case of an infection or insect attack, the department recommended the use of pesticides to protect the crops.
