Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has issued final reminders to numerous public sector organisations and departments to settle overdue gas dues totaling billions of rupees. The utility has urged immediate payments to avoid legal or administrative action, with notices served during April 2025.
Among the largest defaulters are government hospitals, with Federal Government hospitals owing Rs 183.62 million, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) hospitals Rs 106.08 million, and Punjab hospitals Rs 1.1228 billion. The total outstanding dues from hospitals reach Rs 1.4125 billion.
Police departments owe Rs 499.7 million, including Rs 141.5 million from Federal Police, Rs 63.13 million from KPK Police, and Rs 295.04 million from Punjab Police.
Jails in KPK owe Rs 38.58 million, and Punjab’s jails owe Rs 569 million, bringing total dues from prison departments to Rs 607.5 million. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is also a defaulter with Rs 251.2 million in arrears.
The Public Works Department (PWD) owes Rs 141.6 million, with Federal PWD owing Rs 118.46 million, KPK PWD Rs 5.028 million, and Punjab PWD Rs 18.114 million.
Educational institutions have unpaid dues amounting to Rs 115.28 million, comprising Rs 65.58 million from federal institutions, Rs 17.14 million from KPK, and Rs 32.55 million from Punjab.
Miscellaneous government institutions owe Rs 685.8 million, including Rs 198.88 million from federal entities, Rs 76.92 million from KPK, and Rs 410 million from Punjab.
Among specific major defaulters, the Commandant Police Training College Sihala, Islamabad, owes Rs 146.37 million. General Hospital on Ferozepur Road, Lahore, has dues of Rs 97.74 million, and the Executive Engineer Punjab House, Sector F-5, Islamabad, owes Rs 89.21 million. The Medical Superintendent of the Surgical Tower at Mayo Hospital, Lahore, owes Rs 85.7 million.
The Deputy Director of Mechanical Division 2, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, owes Rs 61.66 million for Pak House, while Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), G-8/3, Islamabad, owes Rs 61.4 million. Central Jail Gujranwala’s Superintendent owes Rs 60.99 million, and the Medical Director of Children Hospital, Ferozepur Road, Lahore, owes Rs 60.3 million.
The Medical Superintendent of Surgical Ward, ENT Ward, and Medical Wards 1 and 2 at Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur, has dues of Rs 55.21 million. The Assistant Executive Engineer, PM House Complex, Islamabad, owes Rs 51.76 million. The Superintendent of Adyala Jail, Rawalpindi, owes Rs 49.67 million.
Other notable defaulters include the Medical Superintendent of District Headquarters Hospital, Sargodha (Rs 44.26 million), Medical Superintendent Services Hospital, Jail Road Lahore (Rs 42.06 million), and Superintendent Jail Cook of Food for Inmates, Multan (Rs 40.88 million).
The Deputy Director Mechanical Division, CDA Islamabad, responsible for Prime Minister Secretariat, owes Rs 40.39 million. District Jail Lahore’s Superintendent owes Rs 40.28 million, and the Director of Poultry Farms, Murree Road, Rawalpindi, owes Rs 39.83 million.
The Airport Security Force at New Islamabad International Airport owes Rs 39.57 million. The Medical Superintendent of Services Hospital’s Radiology Department owes Rs 38.46 million, while the Medical Superintendent of the New OPD Block at Services Hospital, Lahore, owes Rs 38.25 million.
The Medical Superintendent of Children Hospital, Multan, owes Rs 37.59 million, and the Medical Superintendent of the Modern Burn Unit at Nishtar Hospital owes Rs 37.29 million. Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar’s Administrator owes Rs 36.37 million.
The Deputy Director E/M Maintenance Division, Parliament House, CDA Islamabad, owes Rs 34.84 million. The Medical Superintendent of Jinnah Hospital, New Campus Lahore, owes Rs 34.66 million, while Mayo Hospital, Lahore, has dues of Rs 34.18 million.
The Deputy Director of Air-conditioning at CDA Secretariat Islamabad owes Rs 34.07 million. The Superintendent of Central Jail, High Security Prison Mianwali, owes Rs 29.22 million, while the Superintendent of Central Jail Kot Lakhpat, Lahore, owes Rs 28.86 million.
Other defaulters include Lady Wellington Hospital, Ravi Road Lahore (Rs 28.41 million), Medical Superintendent Laundry Plant at Nishtar Medical College, Multan (Rs 27.42 million), and the Deputy Director Mechanical Division-I, Federal Government Services Hospital, Islamabad (Rs 25.76 million).
The Superintendent of District Jail, Shorkot Road, Toba Tek Singh, owes Rs 24.19 million. Mayo Hospital, Lahore, Kitchen owes Rs 23.93 million, and the Rapid Response Force, ICT Police Secretariat, Islamabad, owes Rs 23.17 million.
Additional defaulters include the Medical Superintendents of T.H.Q Hospital Murree (Rs 22.57 million), Operation T at Bahawal Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur (Rs 22.56 million), and District Jail Sheikhupura (Rs 22.49 million).
Among smaller but notable outstanding dues are from Deputy Director Mechanical Division-II, Parliament House Islamabad (Rs 22.43 million), Medical Superintendent General Hospital, Lahore (Rs 21.53 million), and Medical Superintendent Rawalpindi General Hospital (Rs 21.49 million).
The Medical Superintendent of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore owes Rs 20.39 million, and the Medical Superintendent Laundry Plant, Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur, owes Rs 20.22 million.
Other government entities with dues include Sindh House Islamabad (Rs 19.55 million), District Jail Muzaffargarh (Rs 19.23 million), and Administrator Markaz-e-Tayyaba, GT Road Muridke (Rs 19.01 million).
The Superintendent of New Central Jail, Bahawalpur, owes Rs 18.75 million, Deputy Director E/M Division CDA Islamabad for Aiwan-e-Saddar owes Rs 18.65 million, and the Medical Superintendent of DHQ Hospital Abbottabad owes Rs 18.15 million.
The Medical Superintendent of Lahore General Hospital owes Rs 17.76 million, while the SDO Baluchistan, House F-5/2 Islamabad, owes Rs 17.64 million.
Other defaulters include District Central Prison Hafizabad (Rs 17.41 million), District Jail Faisalabad (Rs 17.12 million), New District Headquarter Hospital Haripur (Rs 16.89 million), and District Jail Sargodha (Rs 16.42 million).
Police Training College Hangu owes Rs 16.30 million, and the SDO BMCW Superintendent, Central Jail Abbottabad, owes Rs 14.98 million.
Superintendent New Central Jail Multan owes Rs 14.48 million, while the Assistant Director, P.D. PIU-FSA, Home Department, Forensic Science Laboratory Lahore, owes Rs 14.29 million.
The Deputy Director E/M CDA at Capital Hospital Surgical Block Islamabad owes Rs 14.04 million, while the Deputy Director Works III (E&M), Police Barrack No.1, Diplomatic Enclave Islamabad, owes Rs 13.88 million.
Other notable defaulters are Executive Engineer CEM Division-I, Pak PWD, Islamabad (Rs 13.83 million), Superintendent District Jail Kitchen Use Khanewal (Rs 13.69 million), and Project Director Islamabad Hospital Complex (Rs 13.52 million).
