The United States adds more than 379,000 new millionaires in 2024, averaging over 1,000 each day, according to the 2025 Global Wealth Report by UBS.
The country now accounts for nearly 40% of the world’s millionaires.
Private wealth increased by 4.6% worldwide, while in the Americas it rose over 11%, supported by a stable dollar and strong financial markets.
In 2023, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa had led the global rebound in wealth following a drop in 2022. Last year, Greater China had the highest share of individuals with net worth between $100,000 and $1 million, at 28.2%, followed by Western Europe at 25.4%, and North America at 20.9%.
Most adults globally, however, had a net worth below $100,000. Only about 1.6% held $1 million or more.
UBS projects average wealth per adult to continue growing over the next five years, led by the United States and Greater China.
