LAHORE: The 10th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for the fiscal year 2025-26 approved seven development schemes and one position paper across various sectors, with a total estimated cost of Rs16.8 billion.
The meeting, chaired by Planning & Development Board Punjab Chairman Dr. Naeem Rauf, approved the following development schemes:
- Chief Minister’s Program for Water Efficient Agriculture with an estimated cost of Rs7,821.480 million.
- Establishment of Mobile Laboratories under the Soil Fertility Research Institute, Punjab, Lahore (2025–26 to 2026–27) at an estimated cost of Rs873.380 million.
- Progressive Control of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in Punjab under the CM Punjab initiative, estimated at Rs808.726 million.
- Upgradation of Al-Hamra Arts Council at Mall Road and Cultural Complex near Gaddafi Stadium (LAC) at an estimated cost of Rs2,458.060 million.
- Mechanization of Forestry Operations in Punjab at an estimated cost of Rs881 million.
- Afforestation along Linear Plantation at an estimated cost of Rs2,842.300 million.
- Establishment of Makerspace Punjab at an estimated cost of Rs1,137.306 million.
Additionally, a Position Paper for the Modernization of Policing System (MPS) Phase-I, covering the creation of posts and procurement of vehicles, was also approved.
The meeting was attended by P&D Board Secretary Rafaqat Ali, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, board members, and other senior officers.
