Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has given the green light for the establishment of the Bank of Balochistan, a move he hailed as a “historic milestone” for the province’s economy.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting in Quetta, where an initial feasibility study declared the project viable. Bugti directed authorities to finalise the operational plan within one week to ensure swift execution.
The proposed provincial bank will provide banking services to the public, traders, and investors, with the Chief Minister expressing confidence that it will help accelerate development projects, stimulate economic activity, and generate job opportunities for the youth.
The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, and senior advisers, while banking experts also joined online to offer guidance and support timely implementation.
