The federal government has spent Rs5.305 billion on development projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) during the first two months of the fiscal year 2025-26.
The government authorised the use of Rs155.564 billion from the total Rs1,000 billion PSDP allocation for ongoing and new social sector projects during July and August of fiscal year 2025-26, according to the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives.
Of the total authorised amount, Rs107.983 billion was allocated to federal ministries and divisions, while Rs47.581 billion was earmarked for corporations, including the National Highway Authority (NHA) and the Power Division (NTDC/PEPCO).
Among federal ministries and divisions, Rs165.81 million was authorised for the Board of Investment, Rs10.558 billion for the Cabinet Division, Rs417.55 million for the Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Division, Rs7.50 million for the Commerce Division, and Rs22.37 million for the Communications Division, excluding NHA.
The Defence Division received Rs1.733 billion, the Defence Production Division Rs267.90 million, and the Establishment Division Rs74.30 million. The Federal Education and Professional Training Division was allocated Rs2.787 billion, while the Finance Division received Rs127.74 million and Provinces and Special Areas Rs39.935 billion.
The Higher Education Commission was authorized Rs8.036 billion, the Housing and Works Division Rs750.87 million, and the Human Rights Division Rs3.45 million. Rs285.64 million was released for the Industries and Production Division, Rs904.05 million for the Information and Broadcasting Division, and Rs2.434 billion for the Information Technology and Telecommunication Division.
The Inter-Provincial Coordination Division received Rs176.98 million, the Interior Division Rs4.936 billion, and Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, and SAFRON Rs270 million. The Law and Justice Division was allocated Rs286.87 million, the Maritime Affairs Division Rs519.75 million, and the National Food Security and Research Division Rs638.06 million.
National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination received Rs2.151 billion, the National Heritage and Culture Division Rs251.41 million, and the Parliamentary Affairs Division Rs375 million.
The Petroleum Division was authorized Rs107.79 million, the Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Division Rs3.490 billion, the Railways Division Rs3.362 billion, the Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Division Rs97.56 million, the Revenue Division Rs1.072 billion, the Science and Technology Research Division Rs718.90 million, the Special Investment Facilitation Council Rs75.51 million, and the Water Resources Division Rs20.013 billion.
Among corporations, the National Highway Authority received Rs34.047 billion, while the Power Division (NTDC/PEPCO) was authorized Rs13.533 billion for development projects.
