Saudi business delegation to visit Pakistan on October 5 for investment push

15-member Gulf delegation to explore joint ventures and sector-specific opportunities in energy, IT, agriculture, and manufacturing

A high-level 15-member business delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on October 5, according to a news report.

Led by a senior cabinet minister who is also a member of the Saudi royal family, the visit aims to strengthen private-sector investment and business-to-business partnerships across key sectors of the Pakistani economy.

The delegation will hold meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, key cabinet ministers, and officials of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), a civil-military platform designed to fast-track foreign investment in priority sectors.

The visit is expected to cover energy, IT, agriculture, financial services, construction, semiconductors, and food industry projects, providing opportunities for direct joint ventures between Saudi and Pakistani companies.

Officials said the delegation would also travel to Lahore to meet members of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and local business leaders, followed by Karachi for discussions with the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and leading industrialists. Meetings will focus on trade, logistics, energy infrastructure, and industrial cooperation.

The visit follows the signing of the Pakistan–Saudi Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement on September 17, though officials emphasised that the delegation’s focus is purely economic. It builds upon previous private-sector engagement, including a 135-member Saudi business mission to Pakistan in October 2024.

SIFC initiatives have contributed to a 22% increase in Pakistan’s exports to Saudi Arabia, raising total trade volume from $546 million to $700 million.

“This visit is a key opportunity for Pakistani businesses to position themselves as reliable partners in Saudi Arabia’s expanding non-oil economy,” a senior commerce ministry official said.
