Vietnamese business delegation visits LCCI to explore trade potential with Pakistan

Delegation led by NPD Viet Nam Joint Stock Company discusses new investment and B2B opportunities with Lahore Chamber

A high-level Vietnamese business delegation visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Friday to explore new avenues for trade and investment between Pakistan and Vietnam, according to an official statement.

The delegation was led by Tran Thi Luyen, Director General of NPD Viet Nam Joint Stock Company, and coordinated by Rizwan Fareed, Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Pakistan. LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol, Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, Vice President Khurram Lodhi, and members of the Executive Committee attended the meeting.

Saigol welcomed the delegation and thanked Fareed for facilitating the visit. He said Pakistan and Vietnam have maintained strong diplomatic and economic relations since 1972, adding that both countries have ample room to expand cooperation in multiple sectors.

Citing World Bank data, Saigol noted that Vietnam’s economy has shown remarkable progress, with a GDP exceeding $476 billion, exports surpassing $519 billion, and imports amounting to $382 billion. However, he said, bilateral trade remains below potential.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan’s exports to Vietnam stood at $226.6 million, while imports were $374 million in 2024–25. Saigol said both countries could increase trade to $3 billion by improving market access and encouraging business-to-business partnerships.

He identified textiles, cotton yarn, dairy products, tea, food, agriculture, packaging, and tourism as key areas for collaboration and reaffirmed LCCI’s commitment to supporting joint initiatives that strengthen Pakistan–Vietnam economic ties.
