Science and Technology Minister meets PALSP delegation; stresses certified production to safeguard consumers and boost exports

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Hussain Magsi has reiterated the government’s firm resolve to strengthen quality control in Pakistan’s steel sector, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of ensuring reliable, standard-compliant products for the public.

In a meeting with a delegation of the Pakistan Association of Large Steel Producers (PALSP) on Wednesday, discussions focused on measures to enhance industrial growth and improve the effectiveness of quality assurance mechanisms across the sector.

Magsi emphasized that only certified and standard-compliant steel products would be acceptable under the government’s policy framework. He underlined that enforcing quality standards was essential not only for consumer protection but also for improving Pakistan’s industrial competitiveness and expanding its export base.

Highlighting the broader economic implications, the minister noted that the stability and progress of national industries were among the government’s top priorities, as industrial development contributes directly to economic growth and employment generation.

He reaffirmed that the government’s ultimate objective was to enhance exports through the promotion of quality production and adherence to international standards.
