Customs Enforcement teams seize smuggled silver, vehicles in coordinated operations

Field formations in Quetta, Karachi, and Gadani intercept large quantities of smuggled goods and vehicles

In a series of coordinated operations, the Chief Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement) seized significant quantities of smuggled silver and vehicles used for illegal transportation in Quetta, Karachi, and Gadani.

Acting on credible intelligence, Customs Enforcement Quetta intercepted a Toyota Axio (Reg. No. AWQ-240) in the Yaroo area, recovering 40 fine silver bricks (39,996 grams or 40 kg), 36 silver biscuits (9,000 grams or 9 kg), and the vehicle valued at Rs6 million. The total estimated value of the seizure is Rs26.76 million. The goods and vehicle have been taken into custody for further investigation.

In two separate operations, Customs Enforcement Karachi foiled major smuggling attempts at the Mochko Check Post, RCD Highway. The first operation involved intercepting a passenger bus, Al-Hakeem (BTA-022) from Gwadar, leading to the recovery of 25 kilograms of silver, valued at Rs12 million. The second operation resulted in the seizure of 20 kilograms of silver from the bus Al-Saif (JD-553), worth Rs9 million. The smuggled goods were concealed in passenger luggage, and the bus crews were detained for further investigation.

Additionally, Customs Enforcement Khurkhera, in coordination with Uthal Police, intercepted a Toyota Corolla (Reg. No. BFR-023) on October 23, 2025, recovering 25 kilograms of smuggled silver. Two individuals, Shah Wali and Abdul Razak, were arrested, and an FIR was lodged. The seized goods and vehicle are under custody.

A Pakistan Customs spokesperson praised the enforcement teams for their effective collaboration under the FBR Transformation Plan, emphasizing their role in safeguarding the national economy and ensuring lawful trade.
