SMC and Guangdong Handar sign MoU to expand resource extraction and processing under CPEC

Sanjrani Mining Company (SMC) and Chinese firm Guangdong Handar will form a joint venture, tentatively named Pak-Handar Mining Services and Management Company, to invest in resource extraction projects and modernise mineral processing in Balochistan, the Chinese company said in a statement reported by Gwadar Pro.

Under the partnership, Guangdong Handar will provide technical expertise and management support, while SMC will leverage its local network and assets to facilitate operations.

The agreement, aimed at strengthening mining cooperation, is part of the broader China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

The MoU was signed in Guangzhou, China, by Liang Fa, rotating general manager of Guangdong Handar, and Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, former Senate chairman and SMC chairman.
