Trust Securities announces share subdivision and new subsidiary for data infrastructure

Brokerage house to expand into data centre and warehouse business with new wholly-owned subsidiary

KARACHI: Trust Securities & Brokerage Limited, one of Pakistan’s leading brokerage houses, has unveiled a major restructuring initiative, including plans to subdivide its shares and establish a wholly-owned subsidiary focused on data centre and data warehouse services.

In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday, the company’s Board of Directors (BoD) announced that they had approved the subdivision of the company’s shares, reducing the face value of each share from Rs10 to Re1. Under the proposed split, shareholders will receive 10 shares for every one share they currently hold.

If approved at an upcoming Extraordinary General Meeting (EOGM), the company’s existing paid-up capital of 30,000,000 ordinary shares at Rs10 each will be converted into 300,000,000 shares with a face value of Re1 each. Eligible shareholders will receive 10 shares for each share held as of the determination date.

In addition to the share subdivision, Trust Securities is set to expand its technology operations by launching a new subsidiary focused on data infrastructure services. The new subsidiary will offer an integrated data infrastructure platform, combining physical data centre facilities with advanced data warehouse capabilities.

The data centre will provide the necessary infrastructure, including power, cooling, hardware, and security, for reliable data processing and storage. Meanwhile, the data warehouse component will include specialized software and database systems designed to support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting.

Together, the new subsidiary’s operations will provide a comprehensive solution for managing and utilizing data assets, enabling Trust Securities to enhance its capabilities in data-driven decision-making and digital transformation.

Founded in 1993, Trust Securities holds a Trading Right Entitlement Certificate (TREC) for the Pakistan Stock Exchange and is also a member of the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange.
