NAB disburses Rs186 million to victims of Suzuki Sialkot Motors caseĀ 

A total of Rs. 186.188 million was distributed among 136 claimants; National Accountability Bureau chairman assures continued recovery efforts in financial crime cases

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Lt. Gen. (R) Nazir Ahmed presided over a cheque distribution ceremony at NAB Lahore, where a total of Rs. 186.188 million was distributed among 136 claimants affected by the Suzuki Sialkot Motors case.Ā 

The funds, recovered through the plea bargain mechanism, represent NAB’s effective accountability framework for returning looted public money. At present, 50% of the recovered amount has been disbursed to verified claimants, with the remaining 50% to be distributed once procedural formalities are completed.

Addressing the ceremony, NAB Chairman reiterated the bureau’s commitment to swift and transparent recovery, assuring that victims of financial crimes would receive justice without delay. He instructed concerned officers to accelerate the remaining recovery and disbursement processes in all cases involving public fraud.

Chairman NAB also requested progress reports on ongoing investigations and emphasised the importance of identifying challenges faced by affectees to ensure timely restitution of recovered amounts. He reaffirmed NAB’s resolve to uphold accountability, transparency, and public trust.

Mirza Faran Baig, DG NAB Lahore, commended the bureau’s performance in 2025, revealing that NAB Lahore had successfully resolved 98% of over 6,000 complaints received during the year. He added that the bureau had already addressed the grievances of around 21,000 affectees, reflecting NAB Lahore’s focus on efficient enforcement and recovery.

He also reiterated the bureau’s zero-tolerance policy against defrauding individuals and underscored NAB Lahore’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and public service. The ceremony participants praised NAB Lahore’s proactive approach under the leadership of Chairman NAB.
