Supreme Court signs agreement with SBP, 1LINK for digital court fee payments

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has signed a tripartite agreement with the State Bank of Pakistan and 1LINK (Guarantee) Limited to integrate digital payment solutions into judicial processes.

The agreement was signed at the Supreme Court in the presence of the Registrar and senior officers of the court, along with senior representatives of the State Bank of Pakistan Banking Services Corporation and 1LINK (Guarantee) Limited.

Under the initiative, litigants and legal practitioners will be able to pay court fees electronically through approved digital channels once the system is implemented.

The digital payment mechanism will replace the existing manual legal fee stamp system and is aimed at making payment of court fees more efficient, transparent and accessible.

The Supreme Court said the framework would streamline financial transactions linked to judicial services, reduce processing time and administrative workload, and lower reliance on paper-based procedures.

The initiative forms part of the court’s broader reform agenda to improve public service delivery through technology.

Participants at the signing ceremony said the use of technology was important for improving institutional efficiency and public facilitation.

The court said the integration of digital payments would support digital governance and modernisation of judicial administration, while improving access for litigants and other court users.
