Sindh launches urea fertilizer subsidy for verified wheat farmers from February 2
Over Rs12 billion released to Sindh Bank to support 212,171 farmers under the Wheat Growers Support Programme

The Sindh government will start providing a urea fertilizer subsidy to verified wheat farmers under the Sindh Wheat Growers Support Programme from Monday, February 2, 2026.
Sindh Minister for Agriculture Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar said that more than Rs12 billion has been released to Sindh Bank for the second phase of the programme. A total of 212,171 verified farmers have been registered and their details shared with Sindh Bank for disbursement.
Under the scheme, each eligible farmer will receive Rs8,000 per acre as a subsidy for urea fertilizer. The Minister added that farmers can collect the funds from Sindh Bank and other designated banks starting Monday.
Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar highlighted that the subsidy is being provided on the special instructions of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He also noted that in the first phase of the programme, wheat farmers had received a subsidy on DAP fertilizer.
