PSX makes gender pay gap disclosure mandatory for all listed companies

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has directed all listed companies to mandatorily disclose gender pay gap data in their annual reports and on their official websites, in line with instructions issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

In a notice issued to listed entities, the PSX said the requirement follows SECP Circular No. 10 of 2024 dated April 17, 2024, and earlier PSX notices, including the most recent issued on January 5, 2026. Companies are required to present the data using the format prescribed by the regulator.

The PSX said disclosure of gender pay gap data is aimed at improving transparency and supporting gender equality and diversity within Pakistan’s corporate sector, and forms part of the Prime Minister’s Women Empowerment Package 2024.

Companies with a financial year ending December 31 have been specifically advised to ensure full compliance in their upcoming annual reports, as the year ended December 31, 2025, has concluded.

The notice warned that failure to comply with the disclosure requirements, or submission of incomplete information in annual reports or on company websites, may result in enforcement action by the SECP against non-compliant listed companies.

The PSX advised all listed companies to take note of the requirements and ensure meticulous compliance.
