FIA records Rs18 billion in recoveries, secures over 4,200 convictions in 2025

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) reported significant achievements in 2025, recording Rs18 billion in recoveries, securing 4,244 convictions, and arresting 2,333 accused, according to its Annual Performance Report 2025.

The agency handled a total of 68,551 enquiries during the year, comprising 41,750 carried forward from 2024 and 26,801 newly registered cases. Of these, 34,078 enquiries were finalized, 6,383 converted into regular cases, while 34,473 remained under process.

In terms of case progression, the FIA dealt with 36,265 cases, including 26,610 brought forward from 2024 and 9,655 newly registered in 2025. The agency challaned 16,236 cases, finalized 17,339, and had 18,926 cases pending at various stages of investigation and trial.

The report highlighted that FIA operations targeted financial crimes, corruption, fraud, and other organized illegal activities, reflecting the agency’s commitment to integrity and effective law enforcement. Officials added that measures are being strengthened to improve investigations, prosecutions, and public trust.
