FBR and NADRA launch secure system for citizen data exchange

Federal Board of Revenue and National Database and Registration Authority have rolled out a secure electronic system to share confidential citizens’ data as part of efforts to broaden tax base and manage official information requests, according to a notice issued by the tax authority.

The system, developed by NADRA, creates a secure module for data exchange between the two institutions, initially deployed at FBR headquarters with plans to expand to field offices.

FBR has directed its field formations to route all data requisitions for NADRA information through this module. Each request must include documentary evidence outlining the justification and official purpose in line with NADRA’s data requisition protocols.
