PM launches AI-based system to track directives and replace paper files

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday launched the Artificial Intelligence-based Prime Minister Office System (PMOS), directing ministries and government departments to shift from paper files to digital working.

The platform will record, communicate, monitor and track every directive issued by the prime minister, covering the process from issuance and implementation to verified completion and post-completion review.

Speaking at the launch ceremony at the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz ordered the immediate and full implementation of the system across relevant authorities.

“From today onwards, I will not expect any of you with a file in your hands. Everything will be discussed through this mechanism,” he said.

The prime minister said the platform would improve coordination, strengthen accountability and make service delivery easier by allowing progress on government directives to be monitored in real time.

He urged all ministries and departments to adopt the system, saying it would enhance the government’s ability to deliver results.

The government plans to first embed the digital governance model at the Prime Minister’s Office before extending it across the broader administrative structure.
