The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has intensified its crackdown on property tax defaulters in Peshawar, sealing several units across the city, officials said.
The operation was conducted by Excise and Taxation Office II under the supervision of Tausif Khan, the department’s Excise and Taxation Officer. Special recovery teams, led by Assistant Excise and Taxation Officers Nasir Mahmood Khan and Zar Ali Khan, have been tasked with pursuing major defaulters and recovering outstanding dues.
Authorities said that despite repeated notices, a number of property owners failed to settle their tax liabilities. Legal action was therefore initiated under the relevant laws, resulting in the sealing of defaulting units in multiple localities.
The department has warned property owners to clear their outstanding taxes promptly to avoid penalties, legal proceedings, and sealing of their premises.
