The Punjab Home Department on Friday released a list of banned organisations and unregistered charitable institutions, warning that providing funds to proscribed groups is a punishable offence under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
The department urged citizens to ensure their donations reach legitimate beneficiaries and not fall into the hands of entities involved in terrorism or anti-state activities. All charitable organisations operating in Punjab must be registered with the Punjab Charity Commission (PCC), and registration can be verified using the QR code on certificates.
The list of proscribed organisations includes Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Sipah-i-Muhammad Pakistan, Jaish-e-Muhammad, Al-Rehmat Trust, Al-Furqan Trust, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, Tehreek-e-Jafaria Pakistan, Tahrik-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Muhammad, Al-Qaeda, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Balochistan Liberation Army, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, Islamic State, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, and affiliated trusts.
The spokesperson said the complete list is available on the Punjab Home Department and NACTA websites. Citizens were also encouraged to report suspicious fundraising, fraud, or anti-state activities through the toll-free number 0800-11111, helpline 042-99213871, or PCC’s WhatsApp verification line at 0313-4995564.
Officials stressed that donations to registered charities ensure aid reaches deserving recipients and avoid legal consequences associated with funding banned or unregistered entities.
