PTCL reports 12% revenue growth in FY2025; flash fiber, ufone lead

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) posted a 12% year-on-year (YoY) rise in consolidated revenue for FY2025, driven by 50% growth in PTCL Flash Fiber and 16% growth in Business Solutions. Consolidated operating profit surged 216% YoY, though a net loss of Rs 9.7 billion was reported due to accelerated Expected Credit Loss (ECL) provisioning at Ubank.

At the standalone level, PTCL’s operating profit reached Rs 18.2 billion (+49% YoY) with a net profit of Rs 1.4 billion despite a Rs 6.9 billion pension liability. Ufone achieved 14% YoY revenue growth, operating profit of Rs 17.6 billion (+283% YoY), and narrowed net losses by 89%.

PTCL completed the acquisition of Telenor Pakistan on December 31, 2025, pending operational consolidation from January 1, 2026. The merger of Telenor Pakistan and Ufone is planned to strengthen nationwide coverage, improve efficiency, and boost competitiveness.

Flash Fiber retained leadership with 33% market share, while digital services including UPaisa surpassed 1.5 million 30-day active users, with monthly transactions reaching 13.2 million (+57% YoY) and throughput of Rs 21.9 billion (+33% YoY). UPTCL App and Ufone Onic also saw strong user growth.

Enterprise and ICT solutions expanded across mobility, IoT, fintech, and government contracts. PTCL Smart Cloud onboarded digital banks, enterprises, and government clients, while the wholesale and international segments grew through IP bandwidth and submarine cable networks.

Social initiatives under the “Dil Se” platform continued, including clean water projects in Thar and Umerkot, AI-powered sign-language early warning systems, and the Ba-Ikhtiar programme, which trained 79 women in digital entrepreneurship.
