PM directs early salary disbursement for federal employees before Eid, reviews fuel supply measures
Government assures petroleum availability, directs price compliance and plans expansion of freight trains

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that salaries of government employees be released before Eid while reviewing fuel supply and economic measures in light of the ongoing regional situation.
Chairing a meeting on petroleum reserves and relief measures, the prime minister said the government was taking steps to ensure immediate relief alongside maintaining economic stability.
Officials informed the meeting that adequate petroleum stocks were available in the country, with authorities continuing to monitor supply and pricing amid global developments.
The prime minister directed petroleum companies to ensure the sale of fuel at government-notified prices and maintain transparency, while consumers have been given access to a reporting feature through the Pak App to flag issues related to supply and pricing.
He said austerity measures had already been implemented at the national level and further steps were being considered to manage energy use and public expenditure.
Separately, the prime minister directed Pakistan Railways to increase freight operations as part of efforts to shift cargo transport from roads to rail.
Railways authorities have begun engaging with chambers of commerce and commercial organisations to encourage freight bookings, while production of freight wagons has also been accelerated.
Officials said expanding freight train operations could help reduce fuel consumption in the transport sector amid rising energy pressures.
