Utility Stores Corporation begins severance payments to 4,459 laid-off employees

The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has initiated the disbursement of severance and compensation packages to employees laid off following the government’s decision to close the project.

Officials said details of 4,459 eligible employees have been uploaded to the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR) portal to facilitate payment processing.

The first instalment, equal to 40% of the total severance or compensation amount, will be transferred to employees’ bank accounts.

The payments follow months of protests by affected workers, who had been demanding the release of their dues.
