X suffers fresh global disruption as thousands report access failures

A widespread outage disrupted access to X on Wednesday, with users across multiple regions reporting intermittent service failures and login issues.

Outage monitoring service Downdetector recorded a sharp spike in complaints, with nearly 27,330 reports logged by 11:16 am ET. In Pakistan, reports peaked at 8:08 pm, when 177 users flagged disruptions.

Internet observatory NetBlocks said the incident appeared to be a global technical outage rather than the result of country-level internet disruptions or filtering.

“The disruption is international in scope,” NetBlocks indicated, noting no evidence of government-imposed restrictions affecting access.

The platform has yet to issue an official statement on the cause of the outage.

Users in several regions reported difficulty accessing feeds, posting content, and maintaining stable connections, with service availability fluctuating throughout the day.

NetBlocks, which tracks both technical failures and internet censorship events, said such outages typically point to internal service issues when not linked to network-level interference.

The latest disruption follows a pattern of recent instability. Last month, X experienced a similar international outage that temporarily affected users across multiple countries. A separate incident in January also saw the platform go offline globally for several hours before services were restored.
