Pakistan’s shipping carrier maintains fuel flow amid Hormuz crisis, navigates high-risk zones
574,000 MT crude, 61,000 MT gasoil delivered; national carrier operates in extended high-risk zones covering the Red Sea, Fujairah and Sohar, where several foreign vessels reduced activity

The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) has continued fuel transport operations despite disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, ensuring uninterrupted energy supplies to the country.
Officials said the national carrier operated in extended high-risk zones covering the Red Sea, Fujairah and Sohar, where several foreign vessels reduced activity.
Since the Mideast escalation, PNSC has transported about 574,000 metric tons of crude oil across eight to nine cargoes, along with 61,000 metric tons of gasoil under supply arrangements.
The shipments were maintained despite a sharp increase in freight costs, which rose by five to six times during the period.
Authorities said the continued operations helped sustain supply chains at a time of regional uncertainty affecting shipping routes.
The performance highlights the role of Pakistan-flagged vessels and national crew in maintaining logistics during disruptions.
Officials said the corporation is encouraging importers and exporters to use national shipping services to strengthen long-term supply resilience.
