PTA approves merger of Pak Telecom Mobile Limited and Telenor Pakistan 

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has approved the proposed amalgamation of Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML) and Telenor Pakistan (Private) Limited, both wholly owned subsidiaries of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), according to a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday.

The approval was granted through an order dated March 19, 2026, and is subject to the submission of unconditional acceptance of the regulator’s conditions within 15 days.

According to the filing, the merger will be carried out through a scheme of arrangement in line with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.

PTCL informed the exchange under Rule 5.6.1 of the PSX Rule Book and relevant provisions of the Securities Act, 2015.

Further updates on the transaction will be communicated to the exchange in accordance with applicable regulations.
