China pledges continued trade, investment support for Pakistan

China reaffirmed its support for Pakistan on Thursday, emphasising trade and investment cooperation, during a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong.

PM Shehbaz thanked China for its economic backing and highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to advancing CPEC 2.0, with focus on agriculture, industrial projects, and priority infrastructure.

Ambassador Jiang commended Pakistan’s economic reforms and resilience, pledging continued Chinese support.

The two sides also discussed the regional situation, with the premier noting Pakistan’s role in promoting de-escalation and stability.

Both officials looked forward to high-level engagements to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations and reaffirmed the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the countries.
