Pakistan, Kuwait explore expanded trade, investment, and industrial ties

Pakistan and Kuwait are working to broaden economic and industrial cooperation, focusing on food exports, mobile phone manufacturing, logistics, and other investment opportunities, officials said on Wednesday.

The discussions took place during a meeting between Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nasser Abdulrahman Jassim Al-Mutairi. The delegation included Secretary for Industries and Production Capt(r) Saif Anjum, Secretary Commerce Jawad Paul, and DG National Logistics Corporation Major General Farrukh Shehzad Rao.

Haroon Akhtar highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing trade and investment links under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, noting the country’s ongoing efforts to promote regional stability amid geopolitical challenges. He said special committees have been formed to boost food exports to Gulf countries and emphasised Pakistan’s large market, rich natural resources, and opportunities for business collaboration.

The Ambassador expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s support during challenging times and reiterated Kuwait’s interest in expanding cooperation in trade, food, and technology sectors.

Officials also identified opportunities in industrial and logistics collaboration, including mobile phone manufacturing and transport, while both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new areas for joint ventures.
