OGDCL discovers 17.2 MMSCFD gas at Sahito-1 well in Sindh

The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited has announced a gas discovery at its Sahito-1 exploratory well located in the Khewari Exploration Licence area in Khairpur district of Sindh.

According to the company, the well yielded 17.2 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas from the Lower Goru Formation’s Massive Sand interval during Drill Stem Testing conducted after wireline log analysis.

The well registered a wellhead flowing pressure of 3,390 pounds per square inch (psi) at a choke size of 32/64 inches, indicating favorable reservoir conditions.

Sahito-1 was spudded on December 24, 2025, and drilled to a total depth of 3,870 metres (True Vertical Depth) in the Sembar Formation using in-house technical and operational resources.

Under the joint venture arrangement, OGDCL holds a 95 percent working interest in the well, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited maintains a five percent share in the project.
