Pakistan’s total foreign reserves stand at $21.74bn as SBP holdings rise by $22mn

Pakistan’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves reached $21.736 billion during the week ended March 19, according to data issued by the State Bank of Pakistan on Thursday.
Of the total, foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan increased by $22 million on a weekly basis to $16.376 billion, the central bank said in its latest update.
Net foreign reserves maintained by commercial banks were recorded at $5.360 billion during the same period.
The central bank, in a brief statement, said its foreign exchange reserves rose by $22 million to $16,375.8 million, reflecting a marginal weekly improvement in the country’s external liquidity position.
