AJK approves Rs34.85 billion development projects across key sectors
44 projects cleared covering roads, health, education, IT and energy; government orders full utilisation of development funds

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet Development Committee has approved 44 development projects worth over Rs34.85 billion across multiple sectors, including communication and works, health, education, water resources, energy, information technology and food.
The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, reviewed proposals aimed at improving infrastructure, expanding public services and supporting employment through IT-focused initiatives.
Out of the total projects, 35 were approved for the communications and works department, four for health, three for elementary and secondary education, two for energy and water resources, and one each for information technology, food and higher education.
The approved schemes include construction of 30 kilometres of link roads in each of the 33 constituencies, establishment of IT excellence centres, development of grid stations at Patikka in Muzaffarabad and Jabi in Bhimber, and construction of wheat storage facilities.
Projects in the education sector include additional classrooms for primary schools to address capacity gaps.
The prime minister stated that health, education and infrastructure remain priority areas and said the approved projects are aligned with service delivery needs across urban and remote areas.
