ADB, NHA sign deal to develop M6 Hyderabad–Sukkur sections under PPP model
120km six-lane motorway planned, advisory support to structure project, attract private investment

The Asian Development Bank and the National Highway Authority have signed an agreement to develop two sections of the M6 Hyderabad–Sukkur Motorway under a public-private partnership model.
The agreement was signed by ADB’s Country Director for Pakistan Emma Fan and NHA Member PPP Ijaz Ahmed, with officials from both sides present at the ceremony.
Under the arrangement, the ADB will provide advisory services, including feasibility studies, structuring a bankable PPP framework, and supporting transparent procurement to attract private sector participation and achieve financial closure.
The project involves the construction of a 120km six-lane motorway starting from Hyderabad, equipped with tolling, traffic management and safety systems.
Officials said the M6 project will complete a key missing link in the Peshawar–Karachi motorway network, improving logistics, reducing travel time and supporting trade flows across the country.
