Pakistan’s exports fall 7.14% in first nine months of FY2025-26, imports rise 7.98%
Exports recorded Rs6,393 billion in July–March, imports at Rs14,254 billion; March exports hit Rs635.5 billion, imports at Rs1,430 billion

Pakistan’s exports declined by 7.14% to Rs6,393 billion during July–March of FY2025-26, compared with Rs6,884 billion in the same period last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Imports during the nine-month period increased by 7.98% to Rs14,254 billion from Rs13,200 billion a year earlier, reflecting higher demand for machinery and other goods.
In March 2026, exports stood at Rs635.5 billion, down 0.17% from February and 14.21% compared with March 2025. Major export items included knitwear (Rs92.4 billion), readymade garments (Rs84.1 billion), bed wear (Rs67 billion), rice (Rs43.1 billion), cotton cloth (Rs40.2 billion), towels (Rs25.3 billion), made-up articles (Rs17.6 billion), cotton yarn (Rs17.2 billion), fish and fish preparations (Rs14.8 billion) and basmati rice (Rs13.4 billion).
Imports in March were recorded at Rs1,430 billion, showing a decline of 3.44% from February levels.
The machinery group recorded a 10.28% increase in imports during July–March. Agricultural machinery imports rose 18.69% to $102 million, textile machinery increased 20.94% to $449 million, and power-generating machinery imports grew 16.20% to $632 million. Construction and mining machinery imports rose 72.62% to $177 million, while office machinery imports increased 38.86% to $520 million.
Exports of sports goods increased by 12.99% to $319 million during the period, compared with $282 million last year. Football exports rose 17.81% to $197 million, while gloves exports declined 6.86% to $44.8 million. Other sports goods increased 15.20% to $76.9 million.
On a monthly basis, sports goods exports in March rose 9.42% compared with February and 10.90% from March 2025, with football exports increasing 9.36% and gloves exports rising 14.27% during the month.
