Pakistan and China on Friday signed multiple agreements spanning construction machinery, animal health and medical technology, officials said, during President Asif Ali Zardari’s ongoing visit to China.

The signing, witnessed by the president, comes as both countries commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, with officials describing the visit as part of continuing high-level exchanges.

A trilateral memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Al-Hassan Trade Establishment, Sanyi International Development, and Henan Jialong International Technology to enhance cooperation in the supply of construction machinery and related equipment associated with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The parties will also review investment prospects for establishing manufacturing facilities in Pakistan, according to a statement issued by the Pakistan Peoples Party.

Separately, Pakistan and China reached an agreement on a joint project to supply animal vaccines, including for foot-and-mouth disease. The arrangement also предусматриes future collaboration on introducing track and trace systems for livestock.

In the healthcare sector, Dr Ziauddin Hospital and Shenzhen Wei Bang Technology signed an MoU aimed at expanding the use of intelligent medical robots in clinical practice.

President Zardari left for China on April 25 on a week-long visit. The Foreign Office said the trip holds particular significance this year as both countries celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations.
