Pakistan Post resumes outbound mail to 188 destinations after war disruption

Pakistan Post has resumed booking of international outbound mail to 188 destinations with immediate effect after a temporary suspension linked to disruptions caused by the Middle East conflict.

The service had been halted following the escalation in the region after the United States and Israel carried out strikes on Iran on February 28.

According to a circular issued by Additional Director General Maqsood Ahmed, new arrangements have been put in place with seven international transit hubs to facilitate the movement of mail.

These include Azerpost via Baku, Emirates Post via Dubai, Post Malaysia via Kuala Lumpur, Turkish Post via Istanbul, PostNL via Amsterdam, Australia Post via Sydney and China Post via Beijing.

In addition, direct flight connectivity through Pakistan International Airlines is available for selected destinations where outbound mail operations have resumed.

However, bookings remain suspended for 19 countries, including Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Yemen. Officials said services to these destinations will be restored gradually.
